Hoffman's Dairy Garden
About Hoffman Family Farms

Hoffman Family Farms is a century farm in Clackamas County Oregon.  In 1909 Richard and Cora
Simms purchases a homestead in the shadow of the Highland Butte and began clearing the
old growth timber to make a farm.  Their daughter Thelma Simms married Ed Hoffman and now
the fifth generation is living on the farm.

Over the years we have grown berries, produce and Christmas Trees.  From 1948 until 1970
the Hoffman’s operated a dairy and bottled and delivered milk to the Oregon City area.

In 1996 they opened a Farm Store and Produce stand in the Canby area at the Rider Farm
on Knights Bridge Road.  This was an old dairy and the new business was called Hoffman’s Dairy Garden
as the farm store carried flowers and produce grown at the main farm.  Hoffman’s Diary Garden
hosted the Giant Pumpkin Weigh Off from 1999 until 2003.  In the four years Giant Pumpkins
came for the northwest to weigh for over $10,000 in prize money.  The heavest pumpkin to
weigh in was in 2003 at 1425 lbs.

In 2004 the store was closed and Julie Hoffman sells the pies and pastry that is still made at the
Canby farm at local Farmers Markets.  We also sell the Walla Walla Onion Salad Dressings and
Black Raspberry Jelly.  We also participate in the Bite of Oregon in Portland each August and the
Clackamas County Fair.
